ACEPHAP Joins Multi-Country Effort to Improve Postpartum Haemorrhage Diagnosis
The Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) participated in E-MASTER Phase I study: Diagnosis of Postpartum Haemorrhage at Caesarean Section – A Multi-country Diagnostic and Prognostic Accuracy Study during the Site Initiation Visit (SIV) training held from 9–11 March 2026 at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, Rwanda. The meeting brought together researchers and partners from multiple countries to strengthen collaboration and align strategies for improving the diagnosis and management of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), a leading cause of maternal mortality. The sessions focused on study protocols, programme design & training and research coordination to ensure effective implementation across participating sites.
The E-MASTER Project inception meeting marked the formal start of the study and provided an opportunity for participating institutions to review the research objectives and operational plans. The meeting was attended by leading maternal health experts, including Prof. Hadiza Galadanci who doubles as the Nigeria Principal Investigator and Dr. Saeed Suleiman, the Project Manager alongside team members who contributed on improving the timely diagnosis of postpartum haemorrhage during caesarean section. Their participation highlights ACEPHAP’s continued commitment to advancing maternal health research and strengthening evidence-based interventions aimed at reducing maternal deaths across Africa.
The E-MASTER Project inception meeting marked the formal commencement of the study and provided a platform for participating institutions to review research objectives, methodologies, and operational plans.
