FIGO 2025: ACEPHAP, others participate in the Global Gynaecology and Obstetrics Congregation

The Director of ACEPHAP, Prof. Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, Dr. Jawhara Galadanci, Maryam Zarewa and other medical professionals have recently participated in the XXV FIGO World Congress of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO 2025) in Cape Town, South Africa. The conference took place from October 6th to 9th, 2025.

The center participated in two panel discussions: Stakeholder Engagement in the Introduction of Maternal Immunization and Lessons and Experiences in the Implementation and Scale-up of Maternal, Newborn, Child Health & Nutrition (MNCH) Innovation. The Director, as the Co-chair of the LANCET Commission on Maternal Newborn Health (LCMNH), she also facilitated the official launching of the commission at the conference. The commission will focus on gathering data globally on maternal morbidity and mortality, Prof. Galadanci said.

The team also presented three E-posters during the congregation. The posters were on The Burden of Group B Streptococcus Infection, the Importance of Training in Gynaecological Skills and the Acceleration of Implementation of MNCH Innovations in Nigeria.

The engagement of Professor Galadanci and the ACEPHAP team at FIGO 2025 shows a commitment to translating research into action, not only by sharing their local expertise but through evidence-based approaches.
