Strengthening Collaboration for Impact: ACEPHAP hosts Johns Hopkins University on the Community Bundle Project

ACEPHAP last week hosted a delegation from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), alongside colleagues from AKINA and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), as part of ongoing efforts under the Community Bundle Project. The visit was designed to support the project’s evaluation process and foster deeper collaboration with ACEPHAP as the implementing partner. It brought together researchers and practitioners committed to ensuring that the project is both evidence-driven and responsive to community needs.

The engagement provided a platform for in-depth discussions on implementation strategies and a clear review of the evaluation design. Participants jointly examined key project components, clarified expectations, and aligned on next steps. Special attention was given to planning stakeholder engagement activities, including the development of post-baseline stakeholder workshops that will help translate data into practical, community-level interventions.

In her words during the occasion Prof. Hadiza Galadanci, Director of ACEPHAP, emphasized the importance of rigor, ethics, and local relevance in implementation research. She said “strong evaluation frameworks are essential, not just for accountability, but for learning what truly works in our communities,” adding that stakeholder engagement must be “intentional, inclusive, and grounded in trust.” Prof. Galadanci also noted that continuous reflection and adaptation are critical to refining implementation strategies as new insights emerge from the field.

The session was comprehensive and highly interactive, with the JHU team asking insightful questions to ensure clarity and alignment ahead of full project implementation. The collaborative spirit demonstrated by all partners reaffirmed a shared commitment to impact. ACEPHAP looks forward to translating these rich discussions into meaningful action on the ground, strengthening outcomes for communities through evidence-based and well-coordinated interventions.
